Whilst we know Christmas in July & August is for many in the retail business nothing new it is for us but at Free From Food Awards we’re certainly embracing it!

Christmas represents a major selling opportunity for food & drink brands, both in terms of the general frenzy of festive entertaining as well as the gifting opportunity. 

Christmas, for many, is one of the biggest celebrations of the year and the Free From Christmas Awards are very simply an evolution of Free From Food Awards, broadening the scope of our master brand with a bespoke awards cycle that focuses solely on Christmas and recognises seasonal innovation within our existing awards framework. 

The ambition when creating categories for the Christmas Awards is that we are able to welcome entries that address all occasions over the festive period. We have engaged with entrants, judges and consumers as well as interpreting market insights throughout this process. 

What better way to help your products stand out this Christmas than with a festive FFCA logo? 

Our logo is widely recognised as a trusted mark of safety and quality, resonating with consumers. In recent research conducted by FieldAgent, the Free From Food Awards far outstrip other highly credible awards in terms of providing a trusted certification amongst a select free from audience! 

“Sometimes you feel like you are gambling with free from. 

I don’t want to gamble at Christmas.” 

 It’s a time of year when the free from and allergic consumer (and those shopping for them) are more receptive to product endorsements and recommendations, looking for something they may not have tried before AND for many they are prepared to spend that little bit more .....after all it’s Christmas!

What’s New for 2023

Our categories are largely as they were last year, covering all occasions over the festive period but there will be a few additional awards along with an opportunity for entrants to reach our influencer  judges. 

Judge’s Pick

This will recognise products that meet specific free from needs outside of the core judging categories. This will not be a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal: the relevant judge for a specific need such as e.g.  Nut & Peanut Free, Almost Totally Free From or Gluten Free will select their top products. These will be shared throughout December on our social channels.

Influencer Engagement

Given that a number of influencers are on our judging team, we're hosting an additional evening judging session for a selection of free from influencers. There will be a judging element to this session and it doubles up as a FFCA Christmas showcase. 

There will be an option for entrants to provide any press material or product for the packs we will supply to influencers.

This will be a fantastic opportunity for entrants, in addition to securing even more feedback whilst having a fun & festive evening.
