Struggling to keep food delivery orders hot? Try our multi-temperature food lockers

For many of our clients, delivery has allowed them to evolve, survive and the ability to thrive. The shift from dine-in to include delivery happened extremely quickly. So fast, in fact, some are still trying to adapt. That’s where our Pre Order Pods can help initiate that change and keep your click and collect food orders at the perfect temperature - individually adjusted from 2 °C to +70 °C.

Multi- temperature food lockers

Restaurant kitchens are busy places at the best of times, let alone now, with the addition of delivery drivers. With food orders bagged up ready to go sat waiting on the kitchen pass, or delivery drivers frustrated with no designated space to wait, away from the restaurant floor, things can get a little heated.

Our client, a high street restaurant group, were the first to highlight this problem to us. With a chain of restaurants across the UK, they’d noticed that in some sites, 20% of their overall business could be attributed to take-out. A huge departure from where they were pre-pandemic, at just 1%.

This jump in delivery-based trade, although an extremely positive sign for the longevity of the restaurants, has brought about several challenges.

When our high street client presented with these issues, we knew just the solution. One that would address all the challenges in one fell swoop. By installing our multi temperature food lockers in an area next to the kitchen, but away from the main restaurant and accessed via a separate entrance, both delivery drivers and dine-in customers can get the right level of experience for their visit. For the drivers, their orders are ready and waiting in a dedicated food locker – either hot or cold depending on the contents, exactly the right size, with identification logos for third parties such as Deliveroo, Just Eat etc – to be collected using the customer’s order number. And for the staff, the pressure of dealing with multiple parties is eased, while the pass remains clear for serving only the diners on site.

Food lockers that come in all shapes and sizes

When we sought to understand the issues our client was facing, we went out to assess the branches with the most delivery trade. We analysed what was being ordered – in this case, mainly pizzas, salads and pasta dishes – it allowed us to create bespoke food lockers that perfectly hold their contents, in terms of size and temperature – both hot and cold. We offer complete flexibility when it comes to the number of columns you choose or the temperature settings. So, whether it’s pizza boxes you’ll be storing or marinated chicken, our team can support you in getting the combination that’s right for your business.

A simple solution

The beauty of our multi temperature food lockers is that they couldn’t be simpler to use, for both restaurant staff, delivery drivers and customers choosing to collect their own orders. We simply integrate our software with your existing epos or app ordering system. Once an order is placed, a customer number is allocated to both the kitchen for delivery and the person collecting the food. The kitchen can make the orders and store them in the lockers, and those collecting are assured their order is being held at the correct temperature, ready for their arrival. The process is efficient for every party involved.

Our 24/7 support team also provide software support, HSE compliance, and full, ongoing product training – on and off site.
