The Restaurant Takeaway Innovation Expo 2019 gathered together an unparalleled line-up of speakers and exhibitors to show restaurant & takeaway owners the best tools to equip themselves to encourage business growth.

It was a cold and rainy morning on Tuesday 19th of November, but that didn’t stop crowds of people from gathering outside London’s ExCeL. At 10 o’clock, the doors to the Restaurant & Takeaway Innovation Expo rose, and welcomed the legions of excited visitors into the show hall - the event was underway.

The two days of the show saw 15,010 visitors rushing around the packed stands, gathering the tools and equipment to make their business soar in 2020. They came to see an unrivaled line-up of speakers and an incredible array of exhibitors - and they got more than they could ever have dreamt of. A mind-boggling 1,000 exhibitors and 500 speakers came to the show to meet delegates and introduce their products to a wider market. Stands were packed from the word go, and exhibitors where buzzing as visitors filtered their way around the showfloor. Brands such as Just Eat, BioPak, and Carbon Exgen presented some of the latest innovations in the restaurant & takeaway sector to business owners looking to prepare for the coming year.

The Restaurant & Takeaway Innovation Expo is laser-focussed on providing the ultimate marketplace for business owners looking for the latest innovations, but there is more to the show than sales meetings and bustling exhibitor stands. In the keynote theaters and seminar halls, the industry's leading lights shared their knowledge and expertise in fascinating talks. Some of our incredible speakers included the UK general manager of Pizza Hut, Neil Manhas, Simon Wallis, the International Managing Director of Domino's Pizza Group, and Ajmal Mushtaq from Mushtaqs Restaurants. Visitors flocked to hear from Vegan Powerhouse Loui Blake, and recycler extraordinaire Jamie Crummie.

The sheer variety of things to see and do at the show would usually be daunting - but our visitors took it all in their stride, and experienced everything the show had to offer. Our Panel debates allowed delegates to not only hear discussions from some of the most knowledgeable panels, but also to pick their brains with questions. Topics that ranged from Ethical eating, to payment technology, there was a fascinating panel debate for everyone.

New to the show this year was the Sustainability Trail, a series of Innovators gathered together to show visitors who they can better manage their impact on the environment. 25 businesses covering everything from energy solutions and reusable packaging solutions to waste management and electric delivery vehicles. Visitors loved seeing the focus on the environment, and the exhibitors loved being a part of one of the newest parts of the show.

The Delivery Zone returned to showcase the most innovative new delivery systems. A fantastic opportunity to see how delivery could benefit takeaway and restaurant businesses, there was an incredible array of exhibitors showcasing delivery vehicles, new takeaway packaging and new software systems. An excellent one-stop shop for anyone thinking about delivery, and business owners who had never considered it in the past.

Now, just because 2019 was such an incredible year for the Restaurant & Takeaway Innovation Expo doesn’t mean we are just going to rest for a year and coast on this year’s unbelievable experience.
